Eliane Umuhire Awarded in Vienna for Her Role in the “Birds Are Singing in Kigali” / by Ada Zielinska

The Let’s CEE Film Festival in Vienna, where the film had its Austrian premiere, awarded a prize for the “best acting performance in a competition film” to Eliane Umuhire for her role in the Birds Are Singing in Kigali. The festival closed on April 22nd, presented over two hundred films produced in the Central European countries in various competition sections. 

The festival shown feature, documentary and short films as well as organized a series of panels, discussions and conferences addressed to audiovisual industry of the region. Among the films included in this year's festival's programme were Ranier Sarnet’s November, Alexei German’s Dovlatov, Bohdan Slama’s Ice Mother, and Piotr Domalewski’s Silent Night
